GROUP RIDES

ROAD BIKING / SATURDAYS @ 9:00am / 35-40 miles / Leaving from Dome District store

Join us Saturday mornings at 9am for a fun but challenging road ride to destinations such as Orting, Gig Harbor, Bonney Lake and Dupont. Rides are generally 35-40 miles long, and average about 15mph with minimal food/rest stops. Dress for the weather & bring flat repair tools. Rides are led by Jim Ahrens, former USCF official and road/track/cyclocross racer. This is a no-drop ride.

WOMEN’S RIDE / SUNDAYS @ 1:00pm beginning 3/18/12 / 30-35 miles / Leaving from Proctor District store

Join Beth Graff for a women’s only ride leaving from our Proctor store. Beth is a seasoned Masters athlete and Personal Trainer and is looking forward to riding with you! She will work with the group to cover things such as road positioning, changing gears, new routes and any other skills you would like to develop in a relaxed, manageable paced ride. This is a no-drop ride.

MOUNTAIN BIKING / THURSDAYS @ 6:00pm / Carpool from the Dome District store

Join Tacoma Bike staff Peter Stanley & Tony Corke for a fast-paced mountain bike ride along trails such as Capitol Forest, Dash Point, Black Diamond and Duthey Hill. Full-suspension bikes w/ fenders are encouraged, along with bright headlights or headlamps. This ride is not for the weak of heart!

RACING

Learn the fundamentals of competitive cycling by joining the Tacoma Bike Cycling Team. We are a low-key group with an emphasis on having fun. Our riders compete anywhere from Cat 1-5: men, women & masters. Occasional “trainer nights” will help you keep sweating in the off-season, and our recurring Fight Club series helps simulate the elbow-to-elbow maneuvering you would expect during  a race.

To learn more about racing with Tacoma Bike, contact Team Captain Tony Corke at cyclefit@tacomabike.com. You may also purchase team kits & jerseys for $130 and $90.

TOURING

Tacoma will always be our home, but you’ll also find us exploring the Pacific Northwest – and beyond. Our customers love swapping stories about their cycling adventures, and we’re thrilled to be a part of their excursions. Our supported tours (complete with sag wagon & midway lunch delivery) are a favorite among our customers, and typically take place in the Spring.

To learn more about touring with Tacoma Bike or to suggest a destination, contact Mike Brown at mike@tacomabike.com or watch our Facebook page for the latest announcements.

OUTREACH

We believe that the life of a bike shop extends far beyond its walls. That’s why we try to give back to our community every chance we get, whether that’s offering free product demos, off-season Trainer Nights or small-group seminars such as “Bike Maintenance for Women.” Each year we help organize the Tacoma Twilight Criterium, and volunteer free flat repairs at the Tacoma Bike Swap. Our customers are the heart of our business, and the reason we love being in Tacoma.
